Obama to Guide Nation's Sexless Kindergartners into Higher Plane of Orgasmic Bliss
Sen. Barack Hefner Obama told Planned Parenthood this week that if elected President, he would insure that any children the organization doesn't manage to abort will be taught about sex as early as kindergarten. The right-wing propaganda machine went into immediate overload, purposely misconstruing his remarks (http://the-reaction.blogspot.com/2007/07/obama-sex-education-and-inevitable.html) to make it out like Obama was calling for teaching oral sex techniques and sexual positions to toddlers. He said nothing of the kind! There will be plenty of time for all that stuff later, in Junior High School.
Face it, folks: kids, like liberals, are consumed by sex. They're gonna get jiggy with it whether their puritan parents like it or not. All Obama was suggesting was that our public schools guide children along on their sexual adventures by providing them with "age approprate" sex education programs. Such programs may be as simple as teaching youngsters about appropriate and inappropriate touching, or which areas of their bodies are off limits to anyone but their most trusted teachers. There's nothing filthy or purient about it. In fact, if performed in a safe environment with romantic lighting, soft pillows, and perhaps a nice bottle of sherry, the experience can be quite rewarding for all parties involved. It's smart. It's Progressive. It's kinda creepy. But hey, kids really need to know about sex and there are people in the government just itching to teach them.
But of course, the Biblethumping wingnuts on the Religious Right would rather discuss sex with their kids by themselves, where they can mislead them down the dangerous path of abstinence. But in an age where sexual predators walk the streets freely and under the total protection of their bigshot senator wives, it's important we give children the tools they need to protect themselves. Live in your backwards, old-fashioned, sexually repressed world if you must - but don't make your kids suffer your same fate.
This is the 21st century we're living in now, and complete strangers having conversations with your children about sex is the only way to protect them from perverts.
