The secretary general of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) in a meeting with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here Saturday said, "the civilized nation of Iran is considered a valuable and big asset for the organization." In the meeting, which took place in President Ahmadinejad's residence in New York, Ahmadinejad called the role of OIC in Islamic world as "very important" and added making use of all natural and human resources of Islamic countries is a must.

Playing an effective role by OIC depends on cooperation of Islamic countries through a clear and transparent policy, he said, and assured the OIC official of Iran's support for the success of the organization in achieving its important goals.

Referring to cultural contents of Islamic life style with economic and social patterns, the Iranian president said, "Islamic countries can sign join treaties with one another and set up a special Islamic trade organization in the Islamic world."
The OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, for his part, congratulated President Ahmadinejad on his victory in the election and called his speech at the UN General Assembly as very enlightening and wise.

He also briefed the president on the recent meeting of Islamic world scholars on the future of the organization and its approaches, and said the attendance of President Ahmadinejad in the next OIC summit in Mecca would be of great importance.
